Short Story: Master of the universe
Originally written in 2017 by a little friend of mine. Republished here in 2024.
This is a drafted, unpolished version of a story that i found in my old documents, so i thought i should put it in here.
Master of the universe - Short Story
The story starts in small village, where cows are walking around the field which kids are wandering around, a kid named David comes across the meadows with a supreme passion to discover what's up above the clouds, he dreamed himself watching at the pale blue dot he read about, he was very clever, ambitious about his future and somehow he is our hero.
It's the summer of 1998, computer technology gears up to its prime limits, where his village runs with paper pieces. The chief operator at Nasa space research centre gathers everyone to say what he was afraid of, 'The 9982 collider' a factor that can even spare millions of lives in the world, it was an asteroid that scientists were hardly unconfident, it was an unstoppable disaster that was going to hit the earth, they hid it from the public for a decade, and finally, the time is here to make its arrival to the earth, as a massive asteroid, it was a trial piece for David, he knew that this asteroid might hit the earth, but it was too late, he said everyone about this in his village, but no one cares about what is their future and they were just shaking their head just to show david they are listening, david looks at the sky, hoping at sometime, people will understand the very bad impact of the giant asteroid that comes to kill. His mind floods up with questions, asking people that have never heard about space, they don't even want to know what's above the clouds. but there was one thing that David doesn't know about, that the time for the asteroid was today. As the public hears the news, they gathers their things and rush to the cities, but no use they must die. David was sleeping, thinking what they would get from the sky, David fell asleep. The asteroid was so close, that earth's gravity attracted it towards the earth and what else, the people in his village started to panic, there was no use of the news, they made their own stories about the asteroid, they even said that was the payback of the god. the asteroid was now seen, meaning it was beneath the clouds, it was big enough to make the world stop for a moment, make the people think. David opened his eyes, he was frightened, that he found himself with no weight, he was alive, but didn't know where he was. But he was still in his house, and there's no gravity, and he was sure it was space, but how am i alive? Did the earth survive the impact? Am I dead? No, an air bubble wrapping the house was how the air survived, because the impact was pretty fast for it, "there's no way to survive, the air will be replaced with nitrogen soon. He ran ahead fast to the outside, where he saw a portion of the earth boiling in lava. His house was shattered up, he was sure to die. But His story doesn't yet end. He come across an idea in his mind, he took a fire extinguisher, and co2 container, he removed all the co2 and injected the air surrounding him in it, he started to run, to the earth for rescue he jumped, there was no air, no gravity, his body started to experience critical problems like skin tearing apart, he was left with no hope, the silence of space was unknown to human, david realised that he succeeded his ambition but he thought he failed in his life, he thought he could rescue people if he tried hard, even if he survive to the earth, there’ll be no one to hear him again. He opened his eyes, he got retained with air but still, there was no ground, soon he realised he was falling to the pacific ocean where the deepest spots on the earth is, he was unhealthy, starving and got up without any hope of life.
“Hello? Are you there?” sayed someone, i can’t see anything, i said “Yeah, i'm alive, rescue me, please..” someone rescued him, he somehow survived the test of the universe.
He died after a couple of months, because of the high mental and body pressures, but he stayed in the half of earth’s minds. His villagers started praising him and he became their god, seeing up above from the sky.
